How to Release Anger Safely by Tapping on the Gallbladder Meridian Point

Tap to Release Anger

Would like to release anger, so that you can safely let go of the red-hot impulse that you are feeling?

When anger or rage takes over, we stand to lose clarity and we are unable to act rationally or make wise decisions. Sometimes, we may hold on to justified anger. It happens when we have reasons to believe that it is someone else’s fault and we are feeling angst about it.

However, by reacting in anger, we can end up hurting our relationships. After which, we have to spend time and attention to repairing the damage caused by our outbursts. Anger wears down our energy system.

Well, let’s be aware that there are better ways of responding when we are being triggered. What if we are able to respond with a lot more calm, acceptance and courage to tell the truth with compassion? Wouldn’t it be great to achieve our desired outcomes with much less anger?

It is healthy to release seething anger without burying it. Suppressing anger and rage results in blockages that affect our health in the long run. The great news is that it is possible to release anger safely, effectively and quickly via tapping on the body using our finger tips.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the liver and gallbladder meridian point is linked to anger and fear. In this post, I’d like to bring attention to the gallbladder meridian point which can be accessed by tapping on the side of the eye (refer to the featured image), using the finger tips.

Tap for Anger by Accessing the Gallbladder Meridian Point

As we are already aware, the primary function of the gallbladder is to control the flow of bile. Bile is needed to aid digestion by breaking down fats. What I’d like to highlight is that the gallbladder meridian referred to in TCM is not synonymous with the anatomical organ. One is referring to an energetic pathway, while the other is referring to a physical organ.

Restoring energy flow clears any block that is present and resets our health back to its optimal state.
According to TCM, the gallbladder meridian runs from the eyes, along the side of the head, down the side of the neck, through the body and then ends on the 4th toes. Because of its location, blocks in the Gallbladder meridian often play a part in the metaphysical cause behind headaches, jaw tension, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, and foot pain.

The gallbladder affects the health of our muscles and connective tissue. It represents the decision maker, being the organ that is linked to courage, judgment, and decision-making. When the gallbladder is deficient, er experience timidity, poor self-image and a lack of courage. A lack of courage is not necessarily a form of cowardice; instead, it is about not being forthcoming about feelings and opinions.

The gallbladder acts as a pivot, holding the hesitation between courage and fear. It also governs the sense of being easily startled and a general feeling of panic when it comes to decision-making. On the other hand, when the gallbladder is in balance, it creates space for deliberation.

Decisions made with a strong gallbladder are clear, decisive and focused. Thus, we are able to respond with a lot more clarity and strength – instead of reacting in anger and fear.

Tap on the Side of the Eyes to Release Anger

To release anger, tap on the side of the eye 7-8 times during a tapping sequence.

Note that we may need to access more than just the gallbladder meridian to release anger, rage and fear of decision making. As mentioned, according to TCM, anger is known to be also stored in the liver. A stagnation of liver energy can manifests in mood swings or manic-depressive states. Furthermore, we could be dealing with more than just anger for a presenting situation. Refer to more EFT tapping points here.

Anger brings down our vibrational state. Releasing anger frees us from the shackles of our own prison. From feeling free, our willingness to practice forgiveness opens. If we’d like to restore harmony, acceptance, courage and strength, learning how to release anger safely is a must.
