You may have heard about Growth Mindset, but exactly what is a Spiritual Growth Mindset?
Until recently, I associated mindset with having a rah-rah ring to it. Perhaps it is because I’ve attended a number of mindset classes whereby success coaches would use highly motivational tones for raising the energy levels in the room. “Yes, you can do it!” they would shout in a rallying voice.
The problem is that mostly, after the day of such events, I had observed that the energy spikes don’t last. They fizzle out. I would return to the same energy levels as before and not much has changed.
Still, I resonate with the idea of a growth mindset.
As an avid learner, I find myself very interested in self development. I enjoy learning, reading and upgrading myself. Instead of personal grooming, I find myself more obsessive over personal growth!
After reflecting over, I would like to propose the idea of developing a spiritual growth mindset, and not just a growth mindset. A spiritual growth mindset would be one that is more sustaining, conscious and expansive. Let me share some of my thoughts below.
Have you ever wondered how you can let go of past trauma, so that it no longer holds you back from creating the life that you want in the future?
Living with past trauma as if it is still present, can keep you in repetitive patterns.
Your body remembers the past trauma too and it is likely the reason why you find yourself having the same emotional reactions as if the past is happening now.
The same state of paralysis, anxiety and fear.
The same chills in your body, heart racing and churning in your stomach.
By being caught in the past, you can find life a struggle in the present.
You’ve got dreams and goals that you wish to fulfil. Maybe it is to align with your highest potential, to have the best relationship with your spouse ever, to run a thriving business or to manifest the most amazing life ever. Whatever it is, holding on past trauma can limit your chances of success. As a result, you could be feeling bitter, disappointed and helpless, You have the belief that there is nothing you can do to erase the past and to change your destiny.
I’d like to qualify. The traumas you’ve encountered might not have been big major events to begin with. Note that what feels traumatic for one person may not be the same for another. It might have been an incident such as being ostracised by your friends when you were in play school or being criticised for being “not good enough”. Notwithstanding, they were certainly instances that had left an indelible imprint on your subconscious.
Well, in case you consider your future ruined due to an unhappy past, there is hope. I’d like to share how it is very possible to let go of past trauma and to rewrite the story of an unhappy childhood. When you do so, it opens up new possibilities for you in manifesting a more empowering set of outcomes.

When I started my journey as an energy healer and an abundance coach, it became pretty obvious to me that I have a fear of rejection.
More than once, I was shamed, ridiculed and told that I was doing something wrong. Whether it was about energy healing, helping others with emotional release or sharing about the Law of Attraction. It did not matter to the critics. In the beginning, I took such comments personally.
It’s even ridiculous, come to think of it. These friends had formed their judgments even though they hardly knew about my work, the research I had done or about the empirical evidence I had gathered. There was little attempt to understand these. No questions were asked.
But would it have made a difference?
You may be wondering….
Why does it even matter to be aware about what the difference between anxiety, fear or stress is?
Well, for a start, it matters because the more you can make a distinction, the less grip they may have on you.
You can potentially be able to release the appropriate energy and also, apply a more specific belief or targeted action that addresses what’s truly going on with you.
As much as they are related or similar, there are definitely subtle differences between feeling anxious, panicking, and being frozen by fear.
Making a distinction addresses the gap that brings about a shift at a deeper layer. In other words, when you integrate the positive belief that addresses where the specific issue lies, you can potentially be free of your anxiety, fear or stress. You solve the mystery for integration into wholeness, in other words.
Admittedly, most of us do not make any distinction between the terms used. We tend to lump negative emotional states into one broad word “stress”. It’s just convenient to use “stress”. In fact, “stress” is often used by those who are unwilling to face their vulnerability and to avoid digging deeper. It is much easier to say that you are stressed than to say that you are anxious or depressed, if you wish to avoid questions from others.
However, if you are a coach or healer offering emotional therapy services like myself or if you are someone who’s keen to explore your emotional layers, then you may just want to read on to understand more. Continue reading
After encountering a series of events while on a solo trip in London a week ago, I discovered what it means to hear from the Universe…
“When you commit to making the decision to level up, the entire Universe moves in support of you. It lets you know of its support through synchronicity. It does this by delivering coded signs and divine messages.”
The decision to up level our life is to make the choice for growth. It involves making a shift in our mindset, habits, and behaviour. And it first requires us to step out of our comfort zone.
I had found it particularly interesting to observe how my recent London trip unfolded. It certainly differed from the holiday vacations I had taken in the past. My discovery: Where the intention for a trip has been set to one that centers on soul growth, the Universe sends the necessary resources and messages to support it.
At first, I was in two minds about making this trip. I felt uneasy because I would be away from family and since my last visit to London was more than 10 years ago, I did not know quite what to expect. Fear started to escalate when my imagination got hold of me about the dangers of traveling solo.
Luckily, I had a good sense of knowing what fear was doing to me. And so, I decided to bring more attention to what I wanted instead – to learn (and relearn) from EFT master trainers (who are based outside Central London), and to use the opportunity for inner work, on top of taking the time to relax and to rejuvenate my energy. Hence, 3 primary objectives: Relearn, Realign and Rejuvenate!
Well, the moment I got up the plane, I found myself encountering people who assisted me in the direction I wish to take as well as people who offered me the messages that I needed to hear. Even though I know all the Law of Attraction stuff, I was shocked at the signs that showed up.
In particular, key phrases and specific messages that I have been attuning to were being repeated back to me by strangers. I experienced goosebumps when I found out that they were coincidentally in a similar situation. “What are the chances?” I asked myself. Events happened in such a synchronistic way that I could not help but conclude once again that there is a larger force at work.
It’s been a journey of self-discovery. I gained valuable insights during the classes I attended. In London, I got lost a number of times while venturing into new areas. Despite some anxiety, I found myself making my way to where I needed to be. And in good time. There’s nothing like traveling alone to unknown territory and rediscovering myself in the process.
(On the side, Stonehendge has been on my bucket list for a long time and I am so glad to be able to put a checkmark against the item! And I almost did not make it. I was 3 minutes from missing the coach that left for Stonehendge that morning, after getting terribly lost.)
From my experiences, I deciphered the important lesson of trust.
The Universe knows exactly what we need. It sends us the resources, opportunities and the messages when we commit. Hence, I’d like to propose that we don’t procrastinate but to make the decision to level-up. Surrender the process to the Universe, trusting and allowing it to work its magic!
With more time to reflect, I’d like to share my notes on Synchronicity…
The Universe reveals itself through synchronicity. It orchestrates the events, people and environment; and lining them up, so that you are exactly where you need to be. Synchronicity takes place like “a vibrational beacon” that transmits a divine message or coded sign back to you, indicating that you are in alignment or on the right path.
Through synchronicity, even as you ponder over what the message or sign means, you are invited to realise that you are part of something bigger – a cosmic whole. Eventually, you may well conclude that there perhaps isn’t a need to fully make sense of everything in order to derive meaning. On the contrary, it is by taking yourself out from habitual patterns that you get reconnected in oneness. It’s opening up to the sense of wonder and awe that makes you come alive!
Venturing out of your comfort zone enables you to fully appreciate the mysterious workings of the Universe. You learn to let go and you allow the Universe to take over. Finding your way after losing yourself, the path to walk is being revealed to you. You decipher what you need to know at each and every step – through synchronicity.
I believe that the Decision to Up-Level is the Choice to allow Magic into Your Life!
If you have been stuck with indecision, this message could be for you to make the choice to up-level and to go for it! Simply trust! The Universe will reveal the hidden messages to you in a series of synchronistic occurrences.
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work on clearing money blocks?
If so, I’d like to share the client notes that I have recorded down about Kay* with you. While Kay is not her real name, she is an actual person. She had first presented a situation and background, that was similar to other clients I had worked with.
Typically, when we start to work together and dig deep, we would find that much of the blocks stem from childhood. These blocks arise from memories that have been repressed for a long time. For clearing money blocks, my intent is to help clients address the root cause of their issues. As Tom Robbins, a best-selling novelist, who is often quoted says, “It is never too late to have a happy childhood.” Whatever has happened in the past, we would find that it is possible to repair their childhood wounds, turning their scars into stars that shine light!
Because the alchemy sessions are experiential, the process is an awakening of sorts. It doesn’t matter if I am conducting these sessions online or in-person. They would know that something has shifted internally; with indicative signs such as a dissolution of the sharp pain over their heart, a lifting of the heaviness in the head or a lightening of the weight on their shoulders, etc. Clients find the changes in body sensations coupled with receiving insights, as pretty much transformative!
Let’s find out what took place for Kay….
When Kay – 41-years old and mother to two young kids – first approached me, she was feeling desperate. Tears flowed down uncontrollably as she related her story. She was in a lot of emotional pain.
Kay realised that her lack of confidence and mood swings were affecting her ability to function well at work. Kay also suspected that she had huge money blocks as she often faced the pattern of having barely enough to survive even prior to marriage. She needed help to release her money blocks.
That was when I found out more of what had happened to her.
Kay was on the brink of divorce. Her asking for a divorce would have happened sooner if she had not tried to hang on for the sake of their two young kids and her worry over finances. She wanted out because she had realised that she was in a toxic relationship for a long time.
Her husband was emotionally abusive and manipulative. Over the years, while she became more interested in yoga and spirituality, he wasn’t. They had drifted apart with different interests. Their constant quarrels weighed her down.
Kay finally realised that “enough was enough” with the last argument they had. Her husband had attempted to stop her from attending meditation classes. He was against her undertaking spiritual activities that he felt was a a “waste of time” and money.
Kay desperately needed her life to change. Her situation seemed dire. Kay urgently needed to learn how to stand on her own two feet and find a more consistent source of income with financial independence. She would like to have her two kids stay with her.
Kay had to get a new home with the divorce pending. Based on her circumstances, she figured that the best she could do was to become a real estate agent. Getting out of bed to service clients on bad days was a real challenge.
During the private session, Kay shared that she had felt “rejected” with the collapse of her marriage. Then again, it wasn’t a new feeling. She had been suffering from feeling lousy about herself for a long time.
When we started to work together, Kay recalled specific memories in her childhood that still bothered her today. Her parents had divorced when she was 6 years old. Their intense frequent arguments left Kay traumatised. Her mother who was aggrieved and felt bitter by the divorce, had left Kay pretty much on her own. Her 6-year old self felt alone, “unwanted”, abandoned and like a “nobody”.
Kay was in tears when she finally plucked up courage to “meet” her 6-year old. She immediately recognised her inner child who was wearing hand-me-down clothes given by her well-to-do cousins. The clothes were unfortunately too big for her small frame. She was often ridiculed in school about her dressing. Her 6-year old was looking extremely miserable.
With guidance, Kay found out that her inner child or wounded child had been holding on to hurt and pain. She also realised that her younger self had inherited the same beliefs as her mother. Her mother had the beliefs of “I am not good enough” and due to her own issues, would often reaffirm that “money is the root of all evils”.
Kay found out how the negative patterns formed quickly became a common theme in her life. She discovered why she would end up in relationships with partners who were bad for her, leaving her in debt and in dire straits. Kay also finally understood why and how she had contributed to her own marriage collapse and the core reason behind her issues with finances.
Kay realised that she had been operating in poverty consciousness all this time. She needed to change the stories that she was creating in her mind. Her realisations were deep because they were made at the subconscious level. Fortunately, it is possible to tap away the money blocks, rewrite the past and reverse the programming.
Belief Change at Subconscious Level. After Kay had understood what her lessons were, we worked on changing her beliefs at the subconscious. From “not good enough”, I helped her to install beliefs about being worthy and deserving.
Inner Child Healing. Throughout, we worked together with her inner child or wounded child to overcome her feelings of being unwanted and abandonment. The 6-year old wanted clothes that fitted her. She selected a bright yellow dress that brought out the sunshine in her personality. We worked on integrating the energetic picture of a happy child.
Change in Money Story. We cleared her old money beliefs and went on to reimprint Kay’s subconscious with a new story – one that would support her with attracting a money breakthrough and a new reality.
Resourceful State. We worked on shifting Kay into a more resourceful state. From feeling helplessness, she was able to empower herself with creative problem solving and the willingness to be open to new possibilities.
Collapsing the old stories that Kay once had set her free. She experienced shifts as she released her emotional disruptions. From having embraced her inner child, she tuned into a sense of “coming home”. (I equate this to being self-love that she had integrated – a return to wholeness.)
Kay was happy to have worked on clearing money blocks through releasing her childhood pain. In fact, as she discovered, she was no longer as bothered about her financial situation. She was less uptight over things and felt more at ease with herself.
I was delighted to hear from Kay a few weeks later when she reported that she’s been attracting new prospects. The installation of the belief that she is “good enough” had helped to improve her self-esteem. She was able to go for networking events to promote her services confidently.
Kay worked hard both externally and internally through processing her resistances. She went on to selling three properties with a lot less struggle. That gave her enough assurance that she could be independent. She was able to afford rent and to move out to a new apartment after 4 months.
All in, I was happy to have helped Kay. It was great that she took responsibility and committed to working on herself for clearing money blocks. Kay is now in a more resourceful state to deal with ongoing life challenges. I’m proud of how far she has come. That’s empowerment for her!!
Much love,

Have you come across the term “wounded child healing” and wonder if it is something that you may need?
Well, I’d like to offer a brief description of what I understand “wounded child healing” to be.
[Note: I’m re-publishing this article as it is still relevant even after 10 years ;-)]
What is Wounded Child Healing
The “wounded child” is an archetype which contains damaged or negative emotional patterns of our youth. It may help to improve your understanding if we can draw reference from someone famous, like Michael Jackson. After all, no one tells the story of the wounded child better than him. The clues are obvious in the lyrics to his song “Childhood”….
What are money blocks that keep you from attracting the abundance that you deserve?
When you are not being hired for your services, you may be tempted to believe that the problem stems from a branding issue. When you are not able to generate more sales for your product, you could be thinking that the problem lies with the lack of a marketing plan. In both situations, you are not making the money you deserve.
Hence, your first move may be to hire a branding or marketing specialist.
However, you could also find that these solutions could not fix your problems adequately, especially where you continue to be in struggle. It may even appear that the strategies work for everyone else except for you. No matter what you’ve attempted, the methods applied did not work sufficiently. And you wonder, why has the Universe abandoned you?
I would like to invite you to take a step back to reflect.
Could it be that you’ve been in the same negative patterns of emotional struggle over money matters for a long time now?
On reflection, you may discover that while things have improved over the years, you are still far from manifesting your dream or money breakthrough. You are currently feeling depleted in energy, miserable, frustrated, disappointed and ashamed. It will be great if you can change your situation and improve your results.
Well, for change to happen, may I propose that you start from the beginning. Find out what are the money blocks that you’ve created in the past. In other words, address these blocks at root cause.
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.” —Khalil Gibran
Just imagine the scenario of having a cut. You are likely to use a band aid or apply a bandage for your cut. If it is a small cut, that will do the trick! Your bleeding stops.
However, a bandage is not going to help you in a situation that stems from major internal bleeding. In fact, a bandage could hide the problem that you are having. From the inside, you are still losing blood. And you have no idea where the bleeding is coming from – which organ, tissue or body part?
Well, money blocks create a leakage in your energy system. They arise internally. To address the leakage requires you to look within.
Money blocks comprise of negative emotions and limiting beliefs and are often created as a result of negative experiences in the past.
Examples of money beliefs include
– Money is the root of all evils,
– I can’t be spiritual and rich at the same time,
– I need to slave hard for the money
– I am just not good enough to manage money etc.
Money blocks cause you to be in self-sabotage. They create a disruption in your energy system and lower your vibrational state of being. Consequently, you find yourself unable to manifest the financial abundance that you deserve effortlessly and easily. Your financial stress increases and your overall well-being reduces.
Money blocks often arise from a past event. However, do note that the past only exists in the mind. It exists because you keep your old story alive in your mind. That’s why you call it a memory. Memory is a mental construct. Since the memory of the past exists only as a construction, NLP co-founder Richard Bandler postulates, “It is never too late to have a happy childhood.”
Because the past is something that is created in the mind, you have the power to change it. Even though the past may be what you would say “actually happened”, it does not serve you any more to carry it as a burden. When you carry the memory as a burden, you disrupt your own peace and harmony.
You are kept living in the past when you refuse to let it go.
“You know why it’s hard to be happy—it’s because we refuse to LET GO of the things that make us sad.” Bruce Lipton
The same old disruptive tape plays in your mind over and over again. Over time, you leak power. It puts you out-of-alignment with the vibrational frequency of the financial abundance that you are hoping to attract.
Do note that releasing money blocks at a general level may not be enough to create the transformation that you are looking for. If you have encountered negative situations in childhood or a past traumatic even that led to the forming of money beliefs, they need to be dealt with specifically. In other words, specific events or situations need to be addressed at root cause.
Tapping away money blocks at root cause potentially sets you free.
In my 10 years of experience, I have found that applying Meridian Tapping to produce excellent results for releasing money blocks. Meridian Tapping or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) simply involves using fingertips to tap on specific meridian points on our faces and body, while articulating a set of healing statements. Clients are guided to retrack their past memories and to tap away the emotional disruptions and limiting beliefs that were formed arising from the specific events.
Once a release happens, your energy system is reset with open channels. You experience a vibrational shift upwards as you are no longer blocked. It becomes a lot easier to leverage on the Law of Attraction for bringing your dreams into manifestation.
It wouldn’t do for me to recommend the band aid as the solution that will definitely fix the problem of money stress. The solution will not be adequate if I suspect that there is internal bleeding going on. In such situations, I am more interested to investigate what the bleeding is about, where it arose and how to heal from the inside-out.
My focus is to help you address the root cause of your issues and to guide you on transmuting pain into power, while integrating important lessons. Thus, you are no longer held back by the past.
Releasing money blocks is not a get-rich-quick method. Rather, addressing the root cause of your issues is what makes the distinction between getting mediocre results (one that merely helps you get through a transition – the band aid solution) – and getting superior results (one that not only takes you through a transition but aids you in your spiritual transformation).
What I recommend is an inside-out mind, body and soul system that offers powerful spiritual integration in the physical and that takes you to wholeness.
“Transformation occurs when we release energy blocks at all levels: emotional, mental, spiritual and physical.” Evelyn Lim
Over to you. What are the money blocks that you could be having? Which will you choose – address external factors only or address the heart of your issues at root cause?
Love and abundance always,
Evelyn
