Cultivating creativity
The power of imagination can bring us on exciting adventures, to fantasy playgrounds and rides on rainbows. Mine certainly did, one lazy afternoon while I was at the park. There was a tree that loomed above me (see picture). As I lay on the ground and turned my head upwards, I observed that the air that surrounded the crown of ferns sitting atop the tree carried a mystical charm. The day was hot. My eyes started to feel heavy. I closed my eyes.
“The Silver Shoes,” said the Good Witch, “have wonderful powers. And one of the most curious things about them is that they can carry you to any place in the world in three steps, and each step will be made in the wink of an eye. All you have to do is to knock the heels together three times and command the shoes to carry you wherever you wish to go.”

The intent or power word that best resonates with me right now is Creation. It represents the birthing of ideas into fruition. It is about the need to be authentic to my inner vision and to trust that the marketplace will support me in my work. In being authentic, it is about claiming ownership what is inherent in me all along – my creative self. Of course, Creation and Creativity springs from Abundance – the power word which drives my overall intent and this blog.

As I have found, intention setting with simply using power words and phrases can be powerful and effective. This is in contrast to setting new year resolutions. In fact, in recent years, setting new year resolutions is becoming passe amongst spiritually-aware personal development experts. More people are recommending using intentions or themes to guide our directions at the start of a new year.
Difference Between Intention Setting and Making New Year Resolutions
What is the difference, you may ask?

“I am an artist. I love creating masterpieces, valued works of art. I draw love, inspiration, peace and harmony into my life. My purpose is to express my gift beautifully, completely and divinely; so that I can share my light with the world.”
(An acrylic painting of dolphins in underwater I did in 1999; my hobbies included scuba diving and painting.)
I wrote the above lines and shared them from my facebook account recently. I thought I would like to describe a little more of what I mean with an article on creating powerfully in pictures. There is a lot of truth to the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words”. The language of your subconscious mind is not by words but symbols and visuals. Any image in your mind held constant with every belief and trust materializes.
Several thoughts ran through my mind when I watched the video that has already captured the imagination of more than a million people worldwide since its release three months ago. The short film is titled “World Builder”. While it appears as a high tech movie at the start, World Builder is really a love story and about creation.

We all have at least a soul gift, a natural ability, a talent. It is something that we do better than most others. It is possible that it lays hidden or gets buried for a variety of reasons. What we need to remember is that our souls have intended for us to express it in our lifetimes. If you have been having the sneaky feeling that you are in the “wrong” job or finding your life a drag everyday, you may well be out of alignment in how you are expressing yourself.

“I am a co-Creator of the Universe. My abundance is a reflection of my inner space. All the physical magnificence I experience is an experience of what goes on inside. I am an artist with a soul. I am aware.
With love that fills me up and insight from awareness, I bring beauty to the world. I draw, paint and carve every laughter, joy and peace. I find inspired meaning in all-of-creation. There is brilliance in everything that I see, hear, touch or feel.
The curious heart-winged butterfly loves to experience everything on Earth. It feels as if it is deliciously sampling a huge buffet filled with the toppings of life. It understands the art of living happily. However, just when it thought it understood the laws of nature perfectly, the butterfly unwittingly ventured into a world that was totally unknown to it before. With an increasingly open mind, it flew into different dimensions, auric layers and astrals.

Oprah Winfrey revealed that she created one, with the intention that Obama not only become president but that she would go to the inaugural ball wearing the dress she pictured on her Board.
In between watching Wall-E, The Mummy III and a Singapore production Money No Enough, I was in my Dreamworks studio (aka my study) working with “Zhang Yi Mou, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas” for two entire weekends. Relying on a shoestring budget of less than $20, production of my Mind Movie wrapped up late yesterday. While it could do with more editing, I have decided to roll the video out in conjunction with Positive Thinking Day (Sept 13). The only reason why this post was not out earlier (like many hours ago) was because of Youtube having server maintenance; contributing to problems in uploading.
