Tools and techniques for self help
Not being able to let go of the past can keep you stuck for years. The suffering of holding on keeps your stories alive. Attachment drives you into heartache. In fact, over time, you could have also gotten used to the suffering. So much so that you may even feel lost at the thought of becoming free from pain.

It is possible to fear that there will be emptiness when you let go of the past. You are not sure what could be left of you if all the anger, hurt and resentment is gone. After all, you have defined yourself by the stories you believe in. You may think that it is better to cling on the old stories because you fear losing your identity. Well, as I had discovered, this is erroneous thinking.Continue reading
You may be wondering how to develop self acceptance when it has been a constant battle. The advice “just be yourself” is one that is not easy to follow. Not especially when you are getting into many wrong ideas about what beauty is.
“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”
– Thich Nhat Hanh
(When you accept yourself, your confidence shows from the inside.)
Bombarded by advertisements, you are encouraged to believe that you need the latest it-bag, platform shoes or anti-aging cream in order to be beautiful. Thus, life becomes a constant strife to acquire these items.

“When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal.” ~ anonymous
Your heart is broken from a relationship that is finally over. And so, it feels as if your entire world is crushed. You cannot bear the thought of not having that special someone in your life. Never mind even if you have just been betrayed, taken advantage of, left to the sharks and so on from your ex. You just dislike the idea of having to spend special occasions such as Valentine’s, New Year’s or Christmas Day alone.

Find it difficult to open your heart? If happens when you cut off your feelings. It could be that you have been dealing with life mostly from your head. There is a certain disconnection about you that others can sense. Others may even call you cold. You believe it to be mostly true for you do not recall shedding a tear even while watching the most tragic scene in the Titanic movie.
“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.”
– Oscar Wilde
Very likely, your difficulty stems from past trauma. You have been hurt real bad previously. So your resourceful subconscious mind protects you with a shield around your heart. It is so thick that little love can penetrate through.

Creating a powerful personal life vision has many benefits. It offers you guidance in charting the way forward. It also drives the actions, decisions and behavior that you undertake. Where it is lived into, it basically sums up who you are, your life story and the meaning you have created.
Some people don’t bother with making a personal life vision. Well, not having one can leave you like a boat without a rudder; subject to the currents of life. You are more likely to paddle along (which makes your progress slow) or go around in circles. However, if you hope to lead a life that is more than mediocre and one that can potentially allow you to be happier, you will need to take charge.
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.” – Woodrow Wilson
When you love your life, everything works. You become happy. There is a skip in your walk, a song in your heart, a shine in your aura, a joy in your being. Others are attracted to you. You find yourself supported by the universe. Success, invariably, becomes easy.
(See Tip #100 below)
Just imagine if the opposite is true.
Life appears bleak and that there is nothing to live for. And you believe that you are right in holding on to the pessimistic view: your life sucks. You have enough evidence to prove that life has little or no meaning. Everything has been a struggle so far.

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, love to complete your life.”
– Lynnie Buttercup
Dear friend,
I wish you nothing but the best of what life can offer. If life has been a struggle, a dread or a disappointment for you, then things are about to change. There is no need to fear.
I see you. I feel your despair, sorrow and pain. Just like you, I have my difficulties, doubts and problems. I have encountered situations when courage has failed me. I have felt my spirit sank.
And one fine day, I realized that I was not alone. The Universe started sending Earth Angels and Earth Mother, in response to my heartfelt wish. And so, through its special messengers, I have been enjoying comfort, smiles, rainbows, laughter, sunsets, hugs, beauty, friendships, faith, confidence, courage, patience and most of all, love.
Hence, it is not money that I wish most for you. But aspects of love that connects, transforms and heal. They may not be what you are expecting but will be just what you need. In case you miss the signs, take a look around. Be open to the many unexpected ways of how blessings may arrive for you. You are worthy in every way.
Just a note, my wishes often do come true 🙂 Watch your life change when you make the same wish for yourself and others too. In fact, the more you believe in wishes, the more resounding support you get from the Universe.
Abundance always,

“What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out that at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved. That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me…and that I wasn’t wanted in the first place.” – Demi Moore
In a recent interview on the February edition of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, Demi Moore shared that her worst fear is finding out that she is not being loved. Demi has just ended her six-year marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher. It was her third marriage.

Magic commands a mystical force that brings about change. It has the transformative power to turn our dreams into reality. Like the puff from a powerful dragon, magic breathes hope to situations of helplessness. It leaves a trail of twinkling stars in the wave of a golden wand. Within an instant, a moment touched by magic is changed forever.
Think back to your childhood. Think about the times when you have been enchanted with bedtime stories of Peter Pan, Cinderella and Merlin. Think back about the times when your eyes widened with curiosity, excitement and triumph when the hero uses his or her magical powers to conquer the enemy. Transformation is magical because change happens almost immediately.

There are many ways that you can seize the moment. While seizing the moment usually happens spontaneously, it is also possible to cultivate the idea of what to do first.
(My kids spontaneously seized the moment to dance when no one was walking on the streets. See tip #2 below.)
In these instances, seizing the moment involves dwelling on the possibility before you finally take action. What seems immediate has actually been in the works for a period.
