Meaning of Conscious Living
“Don’t live your life by default. Claim the life that you are meant to live by manifesting it.” – Abundance Tapestry
Seniha was a lovely client whom I worked with from the start of this year. She was very kind in agreeing to share her story. Here was what she said…..
What is standing in your way of abundance could be money drama that is playing in your head. It may well be the same script that has been playing for many years. Unfortunately, while there are some positive themes, the script plays a mostly negative one especially in the area concerning money. In fact, there are days when it is kind of like a soap play.

“We won’t see another man like him.” Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in his tribute to his father
It has been an emotionally exhausting week. Singapore plunged into grief since the news of the death of our founding father, Lee Kuan Yew, was announced. I wasn’t expecting it to be this way. Used to reading and hearing complaints about the government, I found the outpouring of love and support by Singaporeans quite a change. In fact, to my surprise, I became one of those who had to process my grief.
As it turned out, Singaporeans came together, sharing, reminiscing and tearing together over memories of Lee Kuan Yew. Many felt that a 10-hour overnight wait in a standing queue at the Padang to pay last respects to Lee Kuan Yew seemed little compared to what he has done. Friends and strangers would cheer each other on for the wait. In the end, more than a million made their final bows in one way or another.

“I have no regrets.
I have spent my life, so much of it, building up this country. There’s nothing more that I need to do.
At the end of the day, what have I got?
A successful Singapore.
What have I given up?
My life.”
– Mr Lee Kuan Yew
I was going to post my usual spin of articles on my blog. However, I had been feeling rather blue the whole morning. And so I thought I would share what’s been going on with me.
My tears flowed when I woke up and read the news. Singapore’s founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, had passed away at 3:18am. He was 91. He was the leader who guided us for 50 years since independence.

“The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem. Do you understand?” Captain Jack Sparrow
Last Saturday, I was attending a talk when the presenter showed a slide that had the saying: “The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude to the problem.” Although the topic that was discussed that day was on how to handle an emotional teenager, it got me reflecting. It would appear that the saying is just as applicable for any one of us adults. So I thought that it would be nice to share more of my thoughts on this post.
To begin with, we believe that the problems we have start externally. We serve our egos by attempting to fix blame on others. And so it becomes the the fault of our parents, our caregivers, teachers, friends, colleagues, superiors, our children or our pet dog when anything goes wrong. It may also be the fault of the economy, the government, the financial institutions, the big boss and the big firms with influential power. Last but not least, it may be the fault of God!

“Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.” ~Edmund Lee
Who are the people in your community?
Are they supportive of you, your vision and dreams?
Do you surround yourself with people who put their dreams into action?
Do pay heed to the observation by motivational speaker, Jim Rohn: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” If you don’t know Jim Rohn, his rags to riches story played a large part of his work. He also previously mentored motivational speaker Tony Robbins in the late 1970s. Then, there are others who credited Rohn for his influence on their careers; such as Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup book series), Brian Tracy, and T. Harv Eker.

I thought it would be interesting to share my perspective on 50 shades of fear. Clients had been coming to me with their issues which are rooted in various forms of fear. In case you are wondering, I did not read the book 50 Shades of Grey nor have watched the movie. However, I would like to borrow the theme of 50 shades.
As we already know, fear can manifest at different levels and degrees of negative emotions; which is influenced by the story that our minds tell. Our fears make up the stories we tell ourselves.
For instance, fear can be in the form of worry….or in more severe cases, it can grow into depression. Fear can also be in the form of nervousness or a diagnosed panic disorder. We can also express fear in the form of blame or if we feel it strongly, we become antagonistic. Obvious symptoms can range from breaking out in cold sweat, turning ashen white, or the racing of our hearts. Whether a niggling sense of anxiety or intense anger, all are signs of fear.

“Infinite potential is the quality of conscious awareness. Abundance is the truth of infinite potential realised in the physical.” Evelyn Lim, Abundance Tapestry
Abundance is the soul experience of fullness, completeness and expansiveness. Your physical self experiences the truth of your soul afforded through a time-space reality. Yet, it is via present moment awareness (often afforded via meditation) that your physical self enter into infiniteness. It is from this field that you realize the potential of being and the nature of existential reality.
The physical is the way for truth realization. Your soul gets to experience itself. It is through physical experience that conscious awareness gets integrated. Infinite potential is the quality of conscious awareness. Abundance is the truth of infinite potential realized in the physical.

Let’s celebrate happiness, prosperity and good health in the new year!
A stone’s throw from where I stay is the Orchard Road shopping belt. As it is usually filled with shoppers, I tend to avoid going down to the malls especially during the weekends. However, every now and then, I do drop by. It is nice to soak in the atmosphere – especially when we are celebrating a festive season.
I took the above picture outside Ion Orchard on Saturday morning (February 14). From the picture, you can see a pair of swans symbolizing love and union against a backdrop of a Golden Ram. Notably, we are celebrating both Valentine’s Day and the coming Lunar Chinese New Year (starts from 19 February 2015 and lasts for 15 days) over three weekends.
Time flies! I recall writing about the Year of the Horse last year.

“The greatest fountain of wealth is between your ears.” Brian Tracy
In Singapore, we have the Fountain of Wealth which is located in the Suntec City Mall. It is visited by throngs of visitors hoping for fortune and good luck. A symbol of prosperity, the Fountain Of Wealth is recognized since 1998 by the Guinness Book Of World Records as the World’s Largest Fountain.
The Fountain of Wealth is designed with symbolic meaning. For instance, the bronze ring of the fountain is built based on the Hindu Mandala, meaning universe, and a representation of the oneness in spirit. In Singapore, an important value that we often emphasize is harmony with all races and religions.
