Is the fear of rejection stopping you from being free to pursue what you want?
Well, it is one fear that strikes many of us. The perception of having been rejected can cut like a stab in the heart. In an instant, you can feel as if you are drained of all blood. Dizziness ensues and you hang on to dear life, gasping for air.
“There is going to be a hundred thousand doors slammed in your face before one opens, so feel ok about taking rejection.” – Heather Matarazzo
I don’t know of anyone who has the privilege of going through life without ever experiencing the fear of rejection at least once. I have certainly been rejected many times. In a few of the situations, back when I was in my early 20s, I had thought that I would not be able to survive past the rejection. Creative living is to allow for inspiration, love and meaning. Creativity is a conscious state. It is more about being, and not just doing. Certainly, it does not solely entail using your fingers to paint or your body to dance. Thus, it is not just about engaging in an artistic pursuit for a couple of hours.
“We are, ourselves, creations. And we, in turn, are meant to continue creativity by being creative ourselves.” – Julia Cameron

Law of Attraction Quote #1. “Welcome to Planet Earth. There is nothing that you cannot be, or do, or have. You are a magnificent creator.” – Abraham
Labels used in negative self talk can restrict you from being your fullest potential. They are the names you mentally call yourself in your head. Unfavourable outcomes result when you identify who you are with these labels.
Labels can be positive or negative. While it helps to use labels for describing something, they can also be rather restrictive. By identifying yourself with them, whether positive or negative, you prevent yourself from discovering your true essence. Still, it is the labels in negative self talk that create the most problems for us.
If you wish to develop courage, please know that it does not merely involve performing heroic acts such as rescuing a child from a burning apartment or putting our lives on the line to do rescue work in the aftermath of a natural disaster in a developing country. Hence, you do not have to wait for a catastrophe or a dramatic event to occur in order to demonstrate courage. Where there is fear on a daily basis, there are opportunities for you to practice it.
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ – Eleanor Roosevelt
Courage is needed whenever you are feeling helpless, vulnerable, ashamed, and weak. You leak energy. Your negative emotions are really indications that you are experiencing fear. Instead of drowning in these, use them as feedback on the need to develop courage.
