How to Make or Create a Vision Board
“The power of belief, the absolutely awesome incredible power of belief, is the genie in your life. Let me say that again: The absolutely awesome and incredible power of your belief is the genie in your life.” — Eldon TAylor
I have had the pleasure of receiving a copy on I Believe: When What You Believe Matters!, the latest book written by Eldon Taylor, a Hay House Author, for review. It was published a week ago. To be honest, having read many books of the same genre, I was not very excited to get to it initially. However, after picking it up, I have to acknowledge that I found it rather good. I share my thoughts below.
We already know that our beliefs largely create or influence our reality. If we expect to succeed, we are more likely to experience success. Conversely, if we believe that we are going to fail, we are likely to meet with failure. Yet, do we take the trouble to truly examine some of the beliefs that we hold on to? Are these beliefs serving or sabotaging us?

“A vision for happiness lays the foundation for a life well-lived in love, peace and harmony.” – Abundance Tapestry
Many of us start the new year with making resolutions. More recently, there is an increasing number who lean towards making inner-directed intentions rather than set externally-driven goals that are forgotten as soon as they have been made. Well, whether you are making intentions, resolutions or goals, I propose having an overall vision for happiness.

You could have hoped to see a sign that would signify the importance of December 21 2012 too. I certainly did myself. A few of my friends reportedly saw double rainbows and golden lights across the sky. Try as hard as I could to convince myself that the cluster of clouds formed to the image of a heart that day, I knew that it would be more a figment of my imagination.
Still, there was no denying that I spent a glorious time in the park for a good part of the day. My intention was to be in a positive vibrational state. In short, I just wanted to be happy. And I was. In the company of my children and husband, we had a lovely time on a picnic mat.

Are you bringing last year’s baggage of frustration, confusion and dissatisfaction into the new year?
Still feeling stuck as ever?
Lost in which way to go?
Chances are if you have ended 2012 still feeling lost, confused and stuck, you will be carrying the same baggage of emotions into the new year.
Let’s look back at what has happened since my last post in December.
So the world did not end in 2012. It is not like you think it would. You prefer to believe that a shift in energies has occurred on the all-important date of Dec 21, 2012, heralding the creation of a new beginning.

“Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of consciousness.” – Eckhart Tolle
With the end of the year approaching, it’s a great time for review and contemplation. Over the last 12 months, I have covered topics on passion, law of attraction, self-love and more recently, about ascension and raising consciousness. Through writing, I have learned a great deal on the content myself.

I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

My husband Warren and I have been traveling around the world since 2010. It took a couple of years of serious saving and downsizing to make it happen, and during that lean time you could say we were a bit challenged when it came to entertainment options.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain

Does the fear of failure stop you from venturing forth?
The fear of failure often strikes with terror. A shiver goes down your spine. You break out in profuse sweat. Your imagination goes on the overdrive. Whether the trial you are undergoing is a big or small one, you feel faint from the thought of being seen as a failure in life.
The fear of failure may not all that negative. For instance, it can spur you to overcome your barriers and conquer new heights. I believe it was how I have studied and passed my examinations relatively well while in school. However, in the recent years, I realised that being motivated by fear may not exactly be the best way to go about living. I have also found that my children do not respond too well when fear is being used to get them to study or to instil some of discipline. With awareness, I intend to be mindful about not using fear on them.

“Alas for those that never sing, but die with all their music in them.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes
Life is precious.
You probably already know this.
So how have you chosen to live life based on this awareness?
If life is precious, then surely it is important to live it well.
But, what does living well mean to you?

It is possible to feel a little nervous when making your first vision board. You have no idea how to begin but you want it to be perfect. Having already seen other people’s vision boards, you would like yours to be just as attractive.
