Abundance Tapestry is Live

I am back to blogging with the launch of my new site at Abundance Tapestry. Abundance Tapestry came into being as a result of intuitive flashes that I had while meditating.

Abundance Tapestry

The flashes appeared like a mosaic of pictures but the pictures were hardly separate. I sensed that each related to one another in a complex web of relationships orchestrated by a higher order of intelligence.

The images that made up the tapestry were largely drawn from the scenery that had been around me ever since I started my blogging break. Oh yes, for the last six weeks or so, I have been going to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, our national park, almost everyday. Amidst nature, I started to gain a wealth of insights simply by being in the silence and observing.

Solitude in Confusion

The solitude was comforting, in the face of the confusion I was experiencing at the start of my break. I was being swept away by a momentum of events that occurred. How coincidental, pointed out by my astrologer friend, that they should happen around 9.9.09.

In case you suspected otherwise, the events that took place were largely personal. Nothing newsworthy was happening on the family front. No one I knew had found another lover, eloped or collapsed in a heart attack. In normal circumstances, it would take a dramatic turn of events to cause us to stop and reflect about our lives. It was hardly that way in the run-up of things. On the work front, I had been extremely blessed with the increase in my client list that stretched to weeks.

The events led me to one outcome: self-inquiry. I could not stop questioning who “I” really was. I was forced to confront old fears. I tried to practice letting go but could not quite get a fix on becoming non-attached to some of the beliefs, ideas or things I have identified myself with. I went through intense energy clearing sessions with effects that took at least two weeks to settle.

At one stage, I felt like I was in darkness. Luckily, I knew enough self help techniques to pull myself up from the abyss I was in. While I had no enlightening answers, I managed to neutralize my emotions with EFT. My husband was extremely supportive during this period. He provided valuable pointers that assisted me in navigating through my confusion.

The Healing Power of Nature

Keeping up with going to Singapore Botanic Gardens was initially tiresome but the benefits were illuminating. Nature began to heal me through the silent communication of its wisdom. There were never two days of the same inspired message whispered to me in the winds. Books that I happened to pick for reading in the park coincidentally offered deeper meaning and insight.

Life slowed down to a relaxing pace while I was in the park. I broke my steps. As I stopped to really look, I experienced eternity in the flowers, leaves and twigs. I saw myself in the reflections of nature. With increased understanding, I gradually gained my strength back.

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

About Abundance Tapestry

Waterfall of Eden

Abundance Tapestry is a celebration of the already rich life that we are having. It also represents a renewal of life. It is the breath of new life into the old and the old into the new. There is no beginning nor is there an end. The moment always renews itself. To rejuvenate is to start right from the beginning: the gift of the breath.

Abundance Tapestry represents the inter-weaving of my inner and outer life, the inter-relationship of my various roles and inter-dependence between myself as an individual and as part of the collective. The last I have discovered: inner abundance drives outer abundance. In the spectrum of options offered in the playground of the universe, I choose to consciously create a life in abundance from the inside-out. A life in abundance means true well-being, living in freedom from fear.

With Abundance Tapestry, therefore, I hope to share about the beauty in life relationships. It highlights the importance of building greater congruency with all-there-is. We cannot do without each other. Neither can we do without the trees, flowers, birds and the bees. Nor without things for modern day living. Events happen in a synchronistic fashion to let us realize our oneness, when we make the intent to find out the truth of our being. We are in the Universe as much as the Universe is in us. To be in harmony is to honor all our relationships.

Blogosphere wasn’t the same without you. I love your new site, new name and the direction you will lead us.

Best of everything on your new journey. 🙂

Daniel - October 29, 2009

Welcome back Evelyn!

One thing I’ve learned about taking a break is that we’ll come back energized and even better than before. Like how one reaches a plateau and he (universal gender) will stay calm, take a break and freely allowing the muse to hit him (ala Issac Newton) — or learning from mentors or from the greats — and coming back stronger — moving on to realising your dreams. 🙂

Ellie Walsh - October 29, 2009

Evelyn….

Good to have you back in the blog-world! New site looks great!
I just stumbled — and tweeted — People need to know about you and your site!

Big Hugs,
Ellie
PS: Thanks for retweet the other day! 😉

Andrea Hess|Empowered Soul - October 29, 2009

Glad to have you back, Evelyn! Love the image of the tapestry … in one of my classes, I do a whole meditation around becoming the Master Weavers at the loom of our lives, creating the tapestry that are our circumstances. Truly, everything is interwoven and interconnected, and attempts at separation inevitably lead to lack!

Blessings,
Andrea

Hi Evelyn

So wonderful to have you back!

The new site name and ideas behind it are very refreshing. I am glad that you took this time out for yourself and brought back for us a whole new abundance of thoughts, experiences and reflections.

I love how you said – in the already abundant life – how true! It is a gift and a very rich and abundant one at that 🙂

Victor Tan - October 30, 2009

Welcome back Evelyn! 🙂

I look forward to reading more beautiful blogs from you..:)

Lisa (mommymystic) - October 30, 2009

Evelyn – welcome back, and what a lovely new blog and mosaic. I am looking forward to all you are willing to share about your time away, and the process you underwent. I think these cycles we go through that are triggered from the inside, from our own process unfolding and transitioning in some way, rather than external events, are the most powerful ones, especially as we mature. It sounds like you really descended into the depths and re-emerged anew. We are all lucky to benefit from it through your writing…

Joy - October 30, 2009

Beautiful site, and I look forward to all that you have to share:)
I find solace and wisdom in nature…living on a boat makes that a bit easier, but I find balance and God at the beach so make it a practice to go there daily in times of strife or celebration, and back off a bit in the “norm”. I love “abundance tapestry” sounds very enriching:)

Annaly - October 30, 2009

Love this design–clean lines and beautiful. Good with your new project.

Evelyn - October 30, 2009

@Nadia, love to have you around since we share so many similar interests. Thanks too for being a wonderful friend and for writing to me. Let’s stay connected. Namaste.

@Sara, I have missed you too. You are really sweet. Please re-subscribe in the next post to my new rss feed. I am still sorting out the admin and technical work. I didn’t realize that there is so much remaining tasks to attend to. However, since I am intuitively guided to make some changes, I am just going to follow the impulses through to see what happens! Stay tuned!

Evelyn - October 30, 2009

Robin,

Your support meant so much to me. You have been truly amazing as a friend. I wish I can say that I am going to Melbourne this year for vacation but my family has chosen to fly to Sydney. It will be nice to meet up!

I have been finding that the more I stop to connect with nature, the more inspired words flow. It is a great idea to sit in the surroundings of plants, birds and swans for anyone who is having writer’s block!

As I told Sara above, I wasn’t fully aware of the consequences of making a site move. But if I am to espouse authenticity and following up on intuitive impulses, then I should walk the talk. So yes, it may mean that I will have to promote my site all over again. But more of the right audience will come since my new site will exude the energy I am aligned to project.

With love and hugs,
Evelyn

@Daniel, how have you been doing? We need to get together some day!

Thanks for your help too in spreading the word about my site. If you need further assistance with social media, do let me know. I will be more than happy to help a like-minded friend.

Evelyn - October 30, 2009

Hi Andrea,

Did you have such a class? I must have missed that!

It is funny that I keep having the same flash throughout my break, far more intricate than the picture I tried to illustrate here of course. More recently, the image appears with intersecting pictures of rich colors, weaved like a traditional basket.

The straws that showed up the pictures go in, out and then in again. I am not quite sure if I can adequately describe it. But the energy of it is about weaving my inner and outer life – to bring about congruency.

Perhaps the images came as a result of my asking – should I go back to the corporate world in view of a tempting offer. It would have been a cushy job! In the end, I decided not to but to continue my path in designing the life that I want. I will be sharing more about what I intend to do – as a result of the inspired ideas from weeks of silent meditation – in the coming posts.

Wishing you every success in your journey!

Evelyn

Megan "JoyGirl!" Bord - October 30, 2009

I’m so glad you’re back, and feel like many light workers (of which you are one) have returned, brighter and better than ever before. Hallelujah!

I am happy to help in any way I can, and supporting you “socially” is a no-brainer. You’re a beautiful soul, who shares beautiful messages of love, hope and peace for our inner and outer worlds. Thank you!

Julie - October 31, 2009

Welcome back, Evelyn!

It’s beautiful how you explain “balance” as a weaving of a tapestry. Integrating all parts of ourselves within and without, and learning to see this applies to all our life relationships is the holistic lifestyle that I find brings about true alignment. Our world doesn’t end at our body’s boundary; our world consists of the relationships we nurture with Nature as well as our own man-made lifestyles. How we weave all these ways of being together determines whether we experience harmony or not. It’s so helpful to learn to be able to view ourselves and our surroundings as if we’re participants and observers, at the same time. By seeing from a more distant vantage point, we are able to retain the perspective of a larger picture.

Kudos to you for sharing your knowledge of this with the rest of us in your own beautiful and unique way. We are all of us more fortunate for your loving generosity. ~ Julie

@Evita, thank you for your warm welcome back. I am glad to be back!

@Victor, I look forward to be connecting with you too 🙂

@Lisa, it is rather amazing how events interweave and unfold in the process of self-inquiry. Of course, when I was going through it, it wasn’t in the least uplifting. On reflection, I am definitely grateful for the awareness that it has brought me. I look forward to sharing more with you in my next few posts 🙂

Evelyn - November 1, 2009

Joy,

Welcome to my site! How lucky you are to be living in a boat. It’s nice that you go to God whether in times of strife or celebration. I am glad to know that you resonate well with “abundance tapestry”!

Abundance always,
Evelyn

Evelyn - November 1, 2009

@Annaly, glad that you like the theme on this site!

@Chris, the honor is mine to learn from you too!

@Megan, somebody also told me the same too: that many of those on the spiritual journey appeared to have gone into hiding for a while. Thank you for your lovely words. Let’s help inspire each other!

Evelyn - November 1, 2009

Julie,

The images appear as a mesh, interweaving every aspect of our lives internally and ourselves with our external environment.

I certainly resonate well with what you said: “It’s so helpful to learn to be able to view ourselves and our surroundings as if we’re participants and observers, at the same time. By seeing from a more distant vantage point, we are able to retain the perspective of a larger picture.” In fact, this was what I tuned into on my first or second day at the park.

I am grateful for your support. Thank you 🙂

With love,
Evelyn

Evelyn - November 1, 2009

@Baker, thanks for your encouragement! I most certainly will. I am on an adventure, trying to see where this path of alignment will lead me to.

@Delia, I hope to continue to be of service to you. We all learn from each other. We share much interconnectedness. Light to you always!

Well put.

I like that.

What’s your current thinking here? (a mash up of metaphors can work well)

Welcome back to blogging. I love your new site and look forward to reading your posts again.

Brenda - November 3, 2009

Forty-five days in a botanical garden with a camera sounds heavenly. I bet you have a gazillion gorgeous shots that you can use on your blog now. How clever of you to go out and solve one of the first necessities of blogging — good images. Primarily, though, it sounds like you gave yourself a free six-week retreat at a beautiful, natural place, unimpeded by workshops, time schedules, noise and instruction. You are clever and smart, Evelyn Lim!

Kaushik - November 3, 2009

Welcome back!

Beautiful pictures, beautiful quotation and how exciting to be energized with a new message. I look forward to hearing more.

Great new site! I really like the concept. We all can use pointers for \”the inter-weaving of [our] inner and outer li[ves], the inter-relationship of [our] various roles and inter-dependence between [oneself] as an individual and as part of the collective.\” I\’m looking forward to future posts!

Welcome back Evelyn,
I’ve been thinking about you and wondering what you’ve been up to!
Now I know. Congratulations on your new site.

Evelyn - November 4, 2009

@Natalie, thanks for the warm welcome back! I’m glad that I made it alive!

@Hilary, oh yes…thanks for noticing the breath of nature’s fresh air! I was hoping that someone will catch that…LOL!

Evelyn - November 4, 2009

@J.D., “who am I” is a process of discovery that unfolds over time. Hopefully, we get closer and closer to the truth. Incidentally, the book that I was reading this afternoon says that even Jesus, Abraham or Mohammad constantly asked themselves the same question.

@Bonnie, and I look forward to sharing with you too 🙂

Evelyn - November 4, 2009

Brenda,

I certainly wasn’t feeling clever and smart when I decided to make my daily trips to the park. I simply looked for the nearest place where I could retreat to. I am fortunate that I stay just two roads away from the park. It takes less than 5 mins of driving time.

I couldn’t help whipping up my camera either. I always carry one around in my huge bag. I had first intended to carry a camera around, because of my kids.

Yes, I have taken many gorgeous shots! Each shot was a wonderful reminder of my lesson for that day or days before. I wasn’t in the mood to write but took the photos as a way of note-keeping back then.

With love,
Evelyn
