Soulful Christmas Greetings

“Christmas is for children. But it is for grownups too. Even if it is a headache, a chore, and nightmare, it is a period of necessary defrosting of chill and hide-bound hearts.” Lenora Mattingly Weber

As I review my snow skiing experience in the last week, I muse over how the theme of “breakthrough” – one of which I had recently been espousing in my posts – continue to extend even while I was on a holiday vacation.

Standing at the top of the mountain and contemplating the slope downhill was frightening for me. I was in a beautiful ski resort in Alpensia Korea, the venue for the Winter Olympics 2018. It was my second snow skiing trip and I was determined to be able to go down the slope on my own despite my fears.

Admittedly, what had been in my way were all my fears: fear of heights, fear of falling, and fear of not being able to rise after a fall. There was also the irrational fear of being abandoned in the snow and contrary to the adrenalin rush, the fear of dying. So I turned to using EFT tapping and in combination with visualization techniques, to eventually accomplish a couple of “firsts”.

Old habits are not quite as easy to adjust, I also realized. I had been used to the “leaning back” posture for water skiing that it felt strange to now “lean forward” for snow skiing. My body did not respond as fast in the biting cold despite my will. It took me a while to get things right with skiing.

At the end of the trip, I still did not manage to snow-ski like a pro. However, I was grateful for the opportunity to do some deep soul-level clearing and consequently break free of some of my old fears. And yes…I was finally able to ski downhill. I also had a great meditation sitting one early dawn at our luxurious resort suite and thereafter, watched the day begin with a burst of luminous light.

What a contrast! My first snow skiing trip had turned out pretty disastrous as I had to battle a fever while learning how to ski downhill. It has been a 5-year gap since then. Being from a tropical country, snow skiing experiences are hard to come by. We have to fly overseas if we want the fresh taste of snow. Still, from a soul perspective, I am glad to have the chance to explore the many delights of the human experience in my travels 🙂

The Magic of Christmas

With the holiday season now in swing, I took the opportunity to record a Christmas greeting for you in a video while at the ski resort….

I love Christmas! Not to mention, my birthday falls on December 24. So it has always been a double celebration for me.

There is a vibe of magic in the air this time of the year. Can you feel or sense it too?

May the magic of Christmas fill your heart and soul with love, joy and peace!

May the magic of Christmas also help usher in an exciting year ahead!

Love and abundance always,

Hi Eveyln,

Great video. Happy Early Birthday! We have so many opps – whether during Christmas or any time – to learn from, to live soulfully through, it is such a blessing. I overcame a serious illness during my travels through India recently. I allowed the sickness to change me for the better.

Now I express gratitude for my growing health, for the taste of food, for my life, for it all. Inside-out living.

Thanks for sharing!

Reading your comment, I too wish to express gratitude for the many blessings in my life – love and support from my family, the opportunity to travel near and far, the taste of snowflakes and the rush and excitement of be-ing.

Thank you for your wishes. Merry Christmas to you too, Ryan! May and your loved ones share a joyous holiday season!

Love and abundance always,
